Anti-slip flooring is necessary for large TVs in the future

In today’s world, the average size of TVs purchased by families has transitioned from small to large. According to an article I read before, the average size of TVs exported from China has reached 45 inches. Imagine that due to the limited space in our homes, when a family buys an 85-inch or 100-inch TV in the future, how should it be placed? Most people may say to use a wall mount, but the wall mount also needs to occupy a little space around it, and there is no wall recess design in the old-fashioned home space. The second situation is the transitional form I can foresee, that is, to put these 85-inch and 100-inch large TVs directly on the ground and support them with slightly higher TV stands.

This can’t help but lead to another question, high TV stands will increase the risk of TVs falling. For this reason, I discussed it with a customer who is engaged in floor installation services in Singapore. He imported a 98-inch TV from us a few months ago, and he had a different view on the problem I thought of.

What is Anti Slip Flooring?

Humans need to be responsible for their own health, and a good home environment can prevent accidents. If it is raining outside and the ground is wet, there is nothing we can do. Slip and fall is a very random accident, but the injuries they cause are often very serious, ranging from fractures to coma due to head injuries.

Anti-slip flooring: How does it fit with a large TV?

As I mentioned before, my client is an anti slip flooring service company in Singapore. When I asked him, he smiled and replied: Generally, we provide anti-slip floors for toilets, kitchens, stairs, and corridors, but we have never met anyone who wants to do this service for the place where the TV is located. Maybe this is a special project.

He and I can imagine that if a family member (elderly or child) accidentally falls in front of a large TV and pushes the TV, the LCD glass of the TV will be broken, and its overweight (for example, an 85-inch TV weighs nearly 40 kilograms) will leave some marks on the floor.

If we add an anti-slip coating in the living room, at least in the area in front of the TV, then the probability of such accidents can be reduced.
