How Does Double Glass TV Protection Work?
Short answer: A double glass TV is a TV built with a specially designed inner glass frame that integrates an additional layer of tempered glass in front of the LCD panel. This extra layer protects the fragile glass substrate of the LCD screen and gives the front of the TV stronger kick proof and impact resistant performance. It helps protect the screen against everyday knocks, scratches, and pointed or sharp object contact.
Double glass TVs can be adapted for applications such as Sari Sari stores in the Philippines, where a protected screen can be useful for displaying menus and other information in a busy retail environment. They are also suitable for KTV rooms, hotels, schools, retail stores, and other commercial spaces where TVs may face frequent contact or higher physical exposure.
Double Glass Construction
As of 2026, double glass TVs are mainly available in two construction styles. The traditional design uses a larger front frame around the tempered glass, resulting in a lower screen to body ratio. The newer frameless design integrates tempered glass into a slimmer front structure, creating a cleaner appearance with a higher screen to body ratio.

Built with up to 4mm tempered glass and a larger protective front structure, this traditional double glass design provides stronger physical protection around the display. The larger glass and frame construction helps distribute impact and reduce direct force on the LCD panel, making it suitable for more demanding industrial, outdoor, and high exposure environments.
Frameless Double Glass TV
A newer and more modern double glass design introduced in recent product development, the frameless version combines a clean full screen appearance with up to 2mm tempered glass protection. It is well suited for residential applications and environments requiring light to moderate protection against scratches, pointed contact, knocks, and kicks.
